Network Performance and Optimization
Advanced 7 Steps 7 hours 53 Credits
If you want to take your GCP networking skills to the next level, look no further. This quest is composed of labs that cover real-life use cases and it will teach you best practices for overcoming common networking bottlenecks. From getting hands-on practice with testing and improving network performance, to integrating high-throughput VPNs and networking tiers, Network Performance and Optimization is an essential quest for GCP developers who are looking to double down on application speed and robustness.
Prerequisites:This Quest requires proficiency in computing and networking in GCP. It is recommended that the student have at least earned a Badge by completing the hands-on labs in the Networking in the Google Cloud and/or Cloud Architecture Quests before beginning. Additional experience with the labs in the Deployment Manager Quest will also be useful.
In this lab, you'll learn important connectivity, performance, testing, and troubleshooting techniques in the Google Cloud Networking insfrastructure environment.
In this lab, you'll work on practical elements of performance testing, with an eye to improving network bandwidth in your environment by using different core sizes and internal vs. external networks.
In this lab, you'll work on further practical elements of performance testing, toward improving network server performance by using load balancing and content caching.
In this lab you will learn how to create secure, high-throughput VPN and test the speed.
In this lab, you configure Cloud CDN for a backend bucket and verify caching of an image.
In this lab, you create one VM in the premium network service tier (default) and one VM in the standard network service tier. Then you compare the latency and routes for each VM instance.
In this lab, you configure a network to record traffic to and from an apache web server using VPC Flow Logs. You then export the logs to BigQuery to analyze them.
